“ Some of these reviews are mean. Nice place, good food. Why do I need to say more? 85, 84, 83, 82... am I at 85 yet? Why do you demand verbosity when all I want to say this is a good place? ”
“ Food was great service was good. Only drawback is it's only cash, but not a big deal for me. ”
“ Definitely one of the best pastas I've had in this city for a long time. Authentic Italian touch. Servers were so sweet and had the right amount of euro style care I look for in my experiences. The restaurant isn't huge which also adds to its charm. People are flowing in and out of there creating a sense of lure! You have to be there and if you're not...what are you waiting for?? ”
“ The pasta is delicious, the service has always been fast and kind when I've visited, and it's honestly such a classic, wonderful experience to sit in their sidewalk area, enjoy the open air, and just people watch as you eat your dinner. Unfortunately taking off a star because my olive oil plate was dirty with dried food on it ... ”
“ Wow! Such a gem in West Village. I absolutely loved the experience from beginning to end. The service was fast, attentive, and very friendly. Ambiance is loud and great for groups. I am looking forward to returning. ”
“ Really enjoyed the outdoor seating and the fresh pasta! The pappardelle alla fiesolana was such a great dish (quite heavy) but phenomenal! The rigatoni pitti was also delightful! The veal meatballs were a little chewy, but still a great appetizer! Cheers! ”
“ Great place for outdoor dining and take in the views. It gets packed in here especially weekends. Our pastas were delicious and creamy. The bread was also very soft and yummy. Staff is friendly and accommodating. ”
“ Bar Pitti has its place. If you know what you're in for, there's definitely a good time to be had and the fact that it's constantly packed is plenty evidence in its favor. Expect to be briskly shown to a table if one is available and a relatively brief wait on the sidewalk if one isn't. The wait is brief because food flies out at this place faster than a pigeon to a dropped dirty water dog - don't expect a leisurely dining experience. But the vibes are still good. The food menu on the table is mostly for show. The "specials" are famously written on chalk boards exclusively in Italian and are the way to go. I say "specials" because I don't think they've changed in...years? It's fun and needlessly inconvenient. Don't miss the "special" fried mushrooms and rabbit papperdelle. The veal cutlet is thin, crispy and also spot on. Do skip the bean and tuna salad. The wine offerings are serviceable: expect reasonably good examples of classic Italian styles at sensible price points, probably little to knock your socks off, but nothing to grimace about either. All in all, if you're keen for a quick, good plate of pasta, it's on the Bar Pitti "specials" boards. ”
“ So, here's the thing. I do think the quality of food is closer to a 3 for me HOWEVER the service was SO incredible and stand out, I have to bump them up to a 4. The olive oil was quite bland and I needed to add salt to enjoy it. The table bread was fluffy and yummy. I went a bit out of my comfort zone to try the chicken liver pate. Again, I felt it was quite bland. I've had liver a few times and sometimes it just doesn't suit my palette. This was definitely one of those times. I wasn't able to eat more than a bite. My server noticed this and decided to remove it from my bill without me even mentioning anything, which to me is stand out service. I decided to try their famous blush pasta. It was slightly bland but I loved the flat noodles paired with the sauce. I still ate almost the entire dish and used some of the table bread to help soak up the sauce. I smelled someone else's truffle pasta and it smelled divine. I wish I had also ordered this to try. The pana cotta was decent, but didn't wow me. This spot is cash only and walk in. Oddly a quite casual experience for Italian food which I appreciate. 3.9/5 ”
